RealeLibrary Managers: Introduction

A RealeLibrary (“Really Library”) is a special website where schools, organizations, and businesses share their RealeBooks (“Really Books”) on the Internet. If your school, organization, or business has a RealeLibrary, you will need to have someone act as the manager of that RealeLibrary. This section explains the role of the RealeLibrary manager. She is the person responsible for approving RealeBooks contributed to a RealeLibrary and for customizing other content on the RealeLibrary.

If your school, organization, or business would like its own RealeLibrary, it needs to purchase a RealeWriter Site or Network License. These licenses include creation of a RealeLibrary and one year of RealeLibrary hosting on our servers. In subsequent years, your school, organization, or business will then purchase year-long RealeLibrary hosting extension contracts. Those hosting contracts will include updates to your previously purchased RealeWriter site or network license for the applicable years. We conduct periodic followups by email and phone to ensure that your school, organization, or business is getting the most out of your RealeLibrary.

Q: If our school, organization, or business does not have a RealeLibrary, can we still share our RealeBooks on the Internet?

A: Yes! You are welcome to contribute to our Signature RealeLibrary. Other RealeLibraries may also accept your contributions.

Q: We already have a server. Can we run the RealeLibrary system on our server? Or can we locate your server on our premises?

A: No and no. We conduct ongoing maintenance on the RealeLibrary systems and it is not feasible for us to deploy them on our customer's servers.

Q: We would like a RealeLibrary but we don't need a site license. Are there other options?

A: No. Our RealeWriter site and network licenses are priced to include RealeLibrary setup and service.

Q: Who is responsible for ensuring that content in a RealeLibrary is kid-safe?

A: Each RealeLibrary manager is responsible for making sure their RealeLibrary is kid-safe and age appropriate. Our documentation has articles detailing specific actions RealeLibrary managers should take to ensure the privacy and online safety of children.

Q: Managing a RealeLibrary looks difficult. Can you manage our RealeLibrary for us?

A: We have several ordinary teachers without extensive IT training managing their school's RealeLibraries, so it's not particularly difficult. However, we can also offer your school, organization, or business an Active RealeLibrary Management package for a fee. We will have an experienced RealeLibrary manager ensure that submissions are kid-safe and your RealeLibrary looks sharp. Email us for details.

Q: What kind of support can RealeLibrary managers expect?

A: We offer the same high level of personal support to our RealeLibrary managers as we offer to our RealeWriter users. We don't outsource our support to Elbonia (or anywhere else <grin>), and all questions are answered under the direction and with input from the developers who built the system, so you will always have access to the best answers.
